Ingredients

1 lb ground chicken

1 cup fresh spinach, chopped

1/2 cup white cheddar cheese, shredded

1/4 cup breadcrumbs (preferably whole wheat)

1/4 cup finely chopped red onion

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)

Burger buns (4)

Optional toppings: avocado slices, lettuce, tomato, and additional cheddar cheese

Instructions

Prep the Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, chopped spinach, shredded white cheddar, breadcrumbs, red onion, minced garlic, Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper.

Mix: Use your hands or a spatula to mix all the ingredients until they are well combined, but do not overmix to keep the burgers tender.

Form the Patties: Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into patties, about 3/4 inch thick.

Cook the Burgers: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the patties to the skillet. Cook for about 5-6 minutes on one side, then carefully flip the patties and cook for an additional 5-6 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the burgers are golden brown.

Toast the Buns: While the burgers are cooking, you can toast the burger buns on the grill or in another skillet for about 1-2 minutes until lightly browned.

Assemble the Burgers: Place each cooked chicken patty on a toasted bun and add your desired toppings such as avocado slices, lettuce, tomato, or an extra sprinkle of cheddar cheese.

Serve: Enjoy your delicious White Cheddar and Spinach Chicken Burgers with a side of sweet potato fries or a fresh green salad!
