Ingredients

1 package (12 rolls) Sweet Hawaiian Rolls

6 large eggs

1 cup milk

½ cup heavy cream

½ cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

¼ teaspoon salt

1 cup crushed pineapple, drained (optional)

½ cup shredded coconut (optional)

Powdered sugar, for serving

Maple syrup, for drizzling

Instructions

Prep the Rolls: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish. Slice the Sweet Hawaiian Rolls in half and arrange the halves in the baking dish, cut side up. If using, sprinkle the crushed pineapple and shredded coconut evenly over the rolls.

Make the Custard Mixture: In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, brown sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined and smooth.

Combine and Soak: Pour the custard mixture evenly over the arranged rolls, ensuring every piece is soaked. If necessary, gently press the rolls down to absorb the custard. Cover the dish with foil and let it sit for about 15-20 minutes to allow the rolls to soak up the mixture.

Bake: Remove the foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.

Serve: Allow to cool slightly before slicing. Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm with maple syrup drizzled on top.
