Ingredients

1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 medium onion, sliced

1 red bell pepper, sliced

1 green bell pepper, sliced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon ginger, grated

3 tablespoons hoisin sauce

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 teaspoon sesame oil

Salt and pepper to taste

Green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Cooked rice or noodles (for serving)

Instructions

Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, combine the sliced flank steak, soy sauce, and cornstarch. Toss to coat the beef evenly and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes while preparing the other ingredients.

Heat the Oil: In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over high heat until shimmering.

Cook the Beef: Add the marinated beef to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for about 2-3 minutes, undisturbed, until browned. Flip the meat and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fully cooked and no longer pink. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside on a plate.

Stir-Fry the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add a little more oil if necessary, then toss in the sliced onion, red bell pepper, and green bell pepper. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.

Add Aromatics: Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the skillet. Stir-fry for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.

Combine and Flavor: Return the beef to the skillet. Add the hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Stir well to coat all the ingredients, cooking for another 2 minutes until everything is heated through. Season with salt and pepper as desired.

Serve: Serve the sizzling pepper steak hot, garnished with chopped green onions on top. Pair it with steamed rice or noodles for a complete meal.
