Ingredients

1 lb ground beef (preferably 80/20 for better flavor)

1 tablespoon sesame oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced

¼ cup soy sauce (low sodium recommended)

2 tablespoons brown sugar

2 tablespoons gochujang (Korean chili paste)

1 teaspoon rice vinegar

1 teaspoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Cooked jasmine or sticky rice (for serving)

Optional: steamed broccoli or bok choy (for serving)

Instructions

Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, brown sugar, gochujang, and rice vinegar until smooth. Set aside.

Cook the Beef: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the sesame oil and once hot, add the ground beef. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart with a spatula until fully browned and cooked through. Make sure to drain any excess grease.

Add the Aromatics: Stir in the minced garlic and minced ginger into the skillet with the beef. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Combine with Sauce: Pour the prepared sauce over the beef mixture. Stir well to coat the beef evenly and let it simmer for about 3-4 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the sauce to thicken slightly.

Prepare the Bowls: While the beef is simmering, prepare bowls by adding a generous serving of cooked rice to the bottom.

Assemble: Spoon the Korean ground beef mixture over the rice. If desired, add steamed broccoli or bok choy on the side for extra greens.

Garnish: Top with sesame seeds and sliced green onions for a fresh finish.

Serve Hot: Enjoy your delicious Korean Ground Beef Bowl warm, and feel free to add extra gochujang if you enjoy a little more heat!
