A sprinkle of sugar during cooking! Serve it hot with maple syrup and your favorite fresh fruits like strawberries or blueberries for a delightful finish. A quick and satisfying treat ready in just 20 minutes!

Ingredients

4 slices of thick bread (preferably brioche or challah)

2 large eggs

1/2 cup milk (whole or almond milk)

2 tablespoons sugar (brown sugar works wonderfully)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 tablespoon butter (for cooking)

2 tablespoons maple syrup (for serving)

Fresh fruits (like strawberries, bananas, or blueberries for topping)

Instructions

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until well combined.

Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and add the butter. Let it melt and start to bubble.

Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are coated but not overly soggy. Let excess drip off.

Place the soaked bread slices onto the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.

For caramelization, sprinkle a little extra sugar (about 1 teaspoon per slice) onto the cooking side while the bread is in the skillet. This will create a delicious caramel crust. Flip and repeat on the other side.

Once cooked, remove from the skillet and keep warm. Repeat with remaining slices.

Serve hot, topped with maple syrup and fresh fruits for an extra delicious touch.
